đ Unity Hall, Chang’ombe â Dar es Salaam
The WIPAHS institution organized a special Majlis at Unity Hall, Changâombe to commemorate the birth of Imam Mahdi (a.j.f.s). The event brought together believers and religious leaders to reflect on the philosophy of awaiting relief (IntidhÄr al-Faraj) and the responsibilities of the faithful during the period of occultation.
In his keynote address, Sheikh Salumu Baqir Ngezi elaborated on the topic Philosophy of Awaiting Relief, offering deep insights into Imam Mahdi (a.j.f.s) and the wisdom behind his occultation. He explained that the Qurâan speaks of two forms of waiting (IntidhÄr):
Negative waiting (misguidance) â which leads to deviation and loss of spiritual direction.
Positive waiting (guidance) â which involves faith, hope, and preparation for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.j.f.s).
Sheikh Baqir emphasized that the duty of believers during this period of waiting includes:
Sacrificing for the sake of justice.
Defending the oppressed and resisting tyranny.
Building a cohesive and united community.
Strengthening faith in accordance with the authentic teachings of Ahlulbayt (a.s).
Concluding his speech, Sheikh Baqir quoted the words of scholars and people of wisdom:
âImam Mahdi (a.j.f.s) does not need to be celebrated at the time of his reappearance; rather, he requires representatives before his reappearance.â
This commemoration left a profound message for the faithful, underscoring that awaiting relief is not a passive act but a responsibility to build a just, united, and spiritually strong society.
