WIPAHS once again arranged womens International Women Day Program coinciding with the birth Anniversary of the great Lady for 3 days to bring awareness and educate the womens who are victimised and more oppressed in the society. With that aim in mind Seminar for 3 days was held in Changombe Umoja Hall on 9th March 2018 which ended with Zahra day Celebration on 11th March. No. of People participated and benefited: 1790 students from various high schools & colleges. 250 prominent and active lady leaders from within and outside the region Topics discussed: The effects of Social Media – Dr. Amina Mwinyi (Lugalo Military Hospital) The Life of Sayyidah Fatimah SA – Hajjat Nafisa Khitamy (Mombasa) Presentation on “The value of a Mother’ – Students of Wali ul Asr Education Centre.’ Highlight of the Day: 80 ladies were presented with gifts to recognise their efforts and services to the Muslim community. The ladies appreciated included doctors, teachers, political leaders, social workers and mosque heads. Participants Comments: “The program was very well organised. Taking from the seminar that began 3 days prior to the big day itself. It was amazing to see how each participant felt ‘addressed’. It is as though the organisers knew the challenges we face in our societies. The youth were so enthusiastic to ask and be heard!
